CT Angiogram

CT angiogram involves having a CT scan with the injection of iodine contrast into the vein. After a few minutes the scan is repeated this time showing the blood supply (arteries) of the colon and rectum. If there is active bleeding of more than 1ml/minute, then this will be visible. CT angiography will also give a clear indication of which vessel and which part of the colon or rectum is bleeding.
